Types of Renewable Energy
There are many types of renewable energy. In fact, as time goes on, technology continues to improve allow for more sources of energy at higher efficiencies. Generally, renewable energy is a source of power that won’t diminish over time and takes advantage of many the existing sources of power already present as part of the earth’s natural geography and climate.
Other sources of energy like oil are not renewable. There’s no way to make more oil and some day the earth will simply just run out. However, sources of energy like solar power have a constant source of energy that will last longer than even the earth.
Solar power is only but one of a number of different sources of energy available that are renewable. Right alongside solar power in people’s minds is most likely wind power. Just like solar, it harness the existing geography and climate of the earth to produce energy that is clean and in many climates is also massively abundant.
However, there are more advanced technologies such as geothermal energy, which uses the heat from the earth’s core to provide energy similar to how nuclear material is used to create energy. Except with this type of energy, there’s no toxic waste and it’s always present.
Biofuel and biomass are gaining in popularity. Instead of harnessing energy that exists naturally in the world, this technology allows people to grow their own energy. This source of energy is so popular because many countries like the United States often have a surplus of crops and farmland. These extra plots of land can be used and farmers can remain employed. Additionally, it is not transferable instead of fixed to a specific location or climate.
